Return
to Key
Largo, Florida
After getting to
our motel in Key Largo, us guys jest natcherally
had to pose fer a pitcher showing all of us in front of where the
boats park, right next to the back door of our motel room!
Pictured, from left
to right: Dexter, Sniffy, Ty, Lil Benny, Scruffy, Sparky and
Hiram (The Old Feller).
While the old folks
was out eating dinner at some world famous restaurant across the
street from the motel, we went out exploring, and we found out how
those boats get their gas or Diesel fuel. A feller in a big
truck with a tank on the back pulled up in the parking lot behind
the motel and pulled a reel long hose across the back grass lawn,
and put the gas pump nozzle into a special hole in the side of the
boat. Then he pulled the handle on that nozzle and about a
long time later it shut off and the boat gas tank was full.
The boat guy must
know the gas truck guy, cuz he didn't have to give him no charge
card or dollar bills, they jest said good bye, and the truck guy
rolled up his hose and drove off.
The Coral Castle
The next morning,
May 7, 2003, we headed for the Coral Castle, located in the south
end of Miami. Some old geezer carved all sorts of weird things
out of coral rocks, including his house, garden wall, outdoor
furniture and even a bathtub.

The Fruit &
Spice Park
We went to this
here place, and it was sort of like a zoo fer plants.
Anyhow, this place
is about 35 acres, and it was flattened by Hurricane Andrew in
1992, but you would never know it to look at all the new trees,
shrubs, bushes and other plants that have grown up since then.
Here in Colorado it
would take about a hunnert years to get that much stuff growing
like that again, but here in Colorado we never get any hurricanes!

While the old folks was riding on
the train thing, me and Dexter got out and explored around the
place. Seeing all those bananas on the trees made both of us
hungry fer bananas, but the ones on the trees were all little and
reel green, so then we decided to jest try to find some banana
seeds so we ken grow our own when we get home, but we didn't find
any.
There was a lot of reely weird
fruit that had fallen to the ground, and we decided not to taste
any of it on account of what we saw on one of them jungle
movies. There was a lady who ate something that looked jest
like that one thing we saw on the ground, and she turned into a
giant spider. In the end, Tarzan had to make her eat another
different kind of tree fruit and she turned back into a lady
again.
